Anyone recall the dreadful lines of cars at gas stations during the OPEC oil embargo of the 1970’s or ever have to go to a store for supplies in preparation for a devastating storm heading into the area?  A picture of large crowds, long lines and scarce product comes to mind.

Now imagine if the pandemic-related shutdowns and restrictions were imposed during a time before the robust digital economy of today was available.  In other words, consider how much worse it would have been to endure the economic lockdowns in a time without the internet or e-commerce.

Here is a very interesting discussion on what might have been.  It was a painfully brutal year for many, but the business efficiencies utilized by the American economy made it much better than it would have otherwise been.  Have a read!
